ARTIST STATEMENT
Salvatio in travertine explores faith through weight, stillness, and material permanence. Travertine, with its geological depth and quiet strength, grounds the object in time rather than moment. Where the glass version reflected clarity and lightness, this table insists on endurance and presence.
The cross-shaped structure is not ornamental, but spatial. It organises the surface around and introduces a rhythm tied to sacrifice, direction, and grace. On each arm rests a simplified reclining figure, reduced to head, arms, and legs. These figures suggest humanity at rest, in surrender, and in communion with something beyond itself.
Salvatio in travertine is a quiet monument for the home, intended for those who carry faith as something lived rather than displayed, and who recognise strength in stone, silence, and time.
